Mentoring and Supervision

For Therapists: Mentor & Supervision sessions

Marga says: “I love to share my experience, to help expand skill base of young therapists, and to spend time with them as I am also learning from them. Together we use our combined experience, knowledge, and clinical reasoning to be experts in helping kids and families. I believe each therapist has a unique contribution to make to clients and to the OT profession. Mentorship and supervision give us the opportunity to identify and develop best practice and unique skills.”

Marga completed her Master’s in occupational therapy with research, she managed her own private practice for almost 30 years, emigrated to Australia, where she worked as a team leader in various private practices. She has and still regularly supervises undergraduate students at universities, mentors and trains therapists worldwide through supervision sessions, clinical reasoning workshops, and university placements. She focuses on upskilling therapist while improving their confidence and equipping them to deliver positive outcomes.

Marga’s work draws on decades in private OT practice, roles as board member of different companies, entrepreneurial experience founding and franchising Better Babies, and developing CoordiKids. Her focus is always on improving skills, lives and delivering competent, affordable services for as many as possible.

She also shares her knowledge through books, including Sensible Stimulation: A Parent Guide to Optimal Development of the 0–3 Age Group (MetzPress) and the e-books Stories of Hope: Insights into the Challenges of Children with Atypical Sensory Motor Skills and Dyspraxia vs Developmental Coordination Disorder.

She holds a B.OT (Hons) from the University of Stellenbosch, an M.Sc. OT (Research) from the University of Witwatersrand, certification in Sensory Integration Therapy, and completed far more professional development than required.

This is what her mentees say:

“Your mentorship has been such a meaningful part of my learning journey. The way you share your expertise, with clarity, patience, and genuine enthusiasm, has given me such valuable insight into the depth and breadth of occupational therapy. You have a natural ability to explain concepts in a way that connects theory with real-world purpose, and this helped me strengthen both my understanding and my clinical reasoning. I deeply appreciated how approachable you were, and how open you were to questions, reflections, and conversations about practice.”

B.B, Gold Coast

“Marga has a wealth of knowledge. She is approachable and her warm, engaging and sincere approach, encourages questions and participation in clinical reasoning. Whether it is individual or master class setting, you walk away every session with fresh ideas, answered questions and motivation to be the best occupational therapist you can be for the children on your caseload.”

E.R., experienced OT, Western Australia

“I am finding our sessions positive and life-enhancing and I get to change my skills but without any sense of shame. Rather I gain more insight and compassion for my journey to overcome negative experiences in my life and career as an occupational therapist.”

M.L., experienced OT

“Through your guidance, I gained confidence in my capacity to apply OT reasoning, to analyse tasks through an occupational lens, and to communicate my thinking clearly. You helped me see my strengths and identify my growth areas in a way that felt supportive rather than overwhelming, and that has truly shaped my professional identity moving forward… Your feedback was always constructive, strengths-based, and grounded in genuine care for my learning. You saw potential in me, and that made such a difference in how I approached challenges and new tasks. Being supervised by someone with your depth of knowledge and your willingness to share it has been an incredible privilege.”

B.B., new graduate, Brisbane
