1.Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) – Understand the Full Spectrum.

SPD is the umbrella term for different conditions called Modulation Disorders, Motor-Based Disorders and Discrimination Disorders. SPD are seen in children and in adults. Empower yourself to assist children or others in your life by understanding the different conditions. What does over-responsive and under-responsive mean, why are some clumsy with poor organizational skills and where do emotional outbursts and extreme frustrations come from?

2.The Touch Sensitive Child – a condition called Tactile Defensiveness.

The child or adult with touch sensitivities have difficulty to cope with textures in clothes, tags in clothes, seams in socks, textures in food, and many more. They are often emotional, and meltdowns can be triggered by minor and seemingly unimportant events. 3.The Movement Seeker – unable to sit still and to pay focused attention to task.

Always on the go, fidgeting, moving, often with difficulty to follow instructions: This is a Movement Seeker. They might also present with poor safety awareness, difficulty to fall asleep and additional sensitivities. Depending on the child, they can present with poor awareness or be sensitive with emotional regulation issues. 4.The Noise Sensitive Child – a condition called Auditory Defensiveness.

These people have difficulty to cope in places such as grocery stores, swimming carnivals, loud cheering, sounds from everyday appliances suchas a vacuum cleaner or hand dryer where they often respond with
