As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with a team of allied health professionals, medical practitioners, and education staff to provide holistic care for children.
- We are conducting comprehensive assessments and providing written reports and clinical notes.
- We are developing and implementing individualised treatment plans, including individual or group therapy, family support, and various therapeutic interventions.
- We are conducting therapy sessions, including sensory integration therapy.
- Home visits and in-clinic sessions may be required.
- We are assessing, writing plans, and overseeing Allied Health Assistants.
- We educate parents, teachers, and caregivers on effective ways to support children’s development.
- We are participating in research projects and contributing to publications.
- Attending regular supervision, mentor sessions, and team meetings.
Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Knowledge of child development in theory and practice.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Physical fitness and stamina.
- Queensland driver’s license.
- A Blue Card (Queensland’s Working with Children Check) and NDIS worker screener check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable Skills and Experience
Candidates with the following qualifications and experiences will be highly regarded:
- Expertise in specific developmental conditions (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, global developmental delays, learning disorders).
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
- Experience working closely with families of children with developmental conditions and disabilities.
- Proficiency in specific assessment and intervention tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with research and evidence-based practice.
- Use your car for client visits and remuneration according to NDIS travel cost allowance.
