Kylie MacIntosh: My name is Kylie MacIntosh, and I’m an ECT (Early Childhood Trainer), and we are now in week 12 of doing the Preschool course. As we progress through the program, with the guidance of the staff, the children have learned to slow down and listen to the instructions.

They are now listening for the sound cues. We have seen an increase in concentration, listening skills. There’s also been, even in other parts of the program. There’s a greater level of concentration at the tabletop activities, with children really persevering. They’re learning that if they don’t get things right the first time, such as the exercises, that if they just keep trying, it will come eventually.

When the music starts, we have a beautiful influx of children coming into our big room to participate in the CoordiKindy exercises for the day. We’ve been talking to the children a lot about CoordiKindy being an exercise for their brain, and for their bodies.

That it doesn’t necessarily have to be a fun, entertaining activity. It’s actually worked for them, and that’s actually going to help them in other areas, particularly when they get off to prep school next year. So, it’s about getting them in the mindset that the program is about work and about being good for your body.

I’m an educator here at Bay Terrace. I’ve been here for about ten years, and this program has really opened up my eyes as to how intricate children’s bodies and human bodies are all about as well. The changes that I’ve seen and the children have been through their fine and gross motor skills, but also through their social interactions. It’s really given them a lot of independence and autonomy and in interacting with their peers.

I’ve also noticed that the interactions have been a lot less stressful, in entering and exiting into interplay has been a great observation on my part, and I do credit that to CoordiKids as well, because it’s a very interactive program, and it also pinpoints as to which children need a little bit more help, so that’s really great for us as educators and teachers.

I really love CoordiKids. I think it’s a wonderful program, and it’s very beneficial to the children.
